The office of Graphic Workman is the graphic design, branding & typography studio of David Ottley. The office offers a discerning and thoughtful approach to visual communication and offers work across various disciplines including visual identity, publication design, packaging and signage. The studios work is known for a strong typographic aesthetic and a tactile approach to print materials and production methods.
David Ottley [b. 1981] has over 10 years commercial experience, his career started in the bright lights of London where he worked for many established and respected design studios including Browns, Together Design, Dalziel & Pow and IDEO. He also spent some time client side working as part of internal design teams, most notably along side the Vice President of Design for Unilever.
David is an alumnus of The London College of Printing (now the LCC) and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, where he completed an MA in Communication Design. Whilst at Central Saint Martins David drew typefaces for two years graduating in 2009. The work he produced from his MA went on to gain commendation from Peter Saville in the Grafik Awards 2010 under the category of 'Best Newcomer'.
He now lives in Derbyshire with his wife and two children, perched on a hill.
